(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) The Ministry of Health yesterday announced the latest medical service fee policy at national medical centers, hospitals and other government medical institutions, to take effect on July 1.
According to the update, the previous medical fee exemptions granted to family members of Yellow Card (citizen) and Purple Card (stateless) holders (namely Green Card and Purple Card foreign citizens) have been cancelled.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that fee exemptions now only apply to Yellow Card (citizen) and Purple Card (stateless) holders. These holders only need to pay a $1 registration fee to be exempted from all medical service charges, including referrals to Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC), Brunei Neuroscience Stroke Rehabilitation Centre (BNSRC), The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC), and Gleneagles JPMC, etc.
Meanwhile, Purple Card (foreign citizen) holders have a registration fee of $3, and Green Card (foreign citizen) holders have a registration fee of $5, and must pay all medical service fees, including referrals to PJSC, BNSRC, TBCC and Gleneagles JPMC and other specialist centers.
This move aims to ensure the sustainable management of national medical resources while safeguarding necessary and fair access to medical services within Brunei for citizens and stateless individuals.
