(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) Standard Chartered Bank Brunei Branch, upholding its ongoing commitment to giving back to society, successfully held two community blood donation events on June 19 and 23, 2025. With the active participation of the public, employee volunteers, and key partners, nearly 150 pints of blood were collected.
The first event was held on June 19 (Thursday) from 10 am to 3 pm at Hua Ho Manggis Mall, co-organized with Hua Ho Department Store. The second event took place on June 23 (Monday) at Standard Chartered Bank’s Gadong branch, in cooperation with the management of Haji Mohd Taha Building.
A spokesperson from Hua Ho Department Store added, “We are honored to participate in this event. Blood donation is a simple act that can save lives, and we are pleased to provide a platform for the public to give back to the community.”
As part of Standard Chartered Bank’s global employee volunteer service program, all staff are entitled to three days of paid volunteer leave each year. Participating in the blood donation drive is one way for employees to exercise this volunteer leave, reflecting the bank’s commitment to empowering staff to be a force for good.
Marilyn Graeme, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Brunei, stated: “At Standard Chartered, volunteer service is not just a policy, but a culture. We are proud of our employees who took part in this event, and grateful to our partners, donors, and the Central Hospital Blood Bank team whose contributions made a profound impact. Together, we’re building a healthier and more caring community.”
Standard Chartered also sincerely thanks the Central Hospital Blood Bank team for their ongoing support, professionalism, and assistance during the events.
Standard Chartered will continue to positively impact the community through inclusive and sustainable initiatives, and plans to launch more health and wellness projects in the coming months.
