Chinese authorities announced that on the 10th, traffic control will be implemented at the exit of a major deep-water channel for large vessels at the Yangtze River estuary, coinciding with public speculation that the navy's third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, might be commissioned during September's Anti-Japanese War Memorial Day.
The official website of China’s Maritime Safety Administration published a navigation warning from the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration on the 8th, stating that on the 10th, traffic control will be imposed at the exit of a deep-water channel for large vessels. From 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, vessel traffic control will be imposed on inbound ships at the Yangtze River estuary deep-water channel; from 2:15 pm to 4:30 pm, traffic control will be imposed on outbound ships in the same channel.
From 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, authorities will also implement traffic control from the line connecting the 302 buoy, 301 buoy, and 42 buoy to the Changxing Island terminal waters.
