(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) Chung Yei Fui, Nursing Director of Jerudong Park Medical Centre, stated that nurses and midwives are the cornerstone of patient care and the pillars of the healthcare system. Their professional knowledge and compassion extend beyond healing individuals and can enhance and improve the health and well-being of entire communities, especially those in need.

She made these remarks during the launch ceremony of the 2025 International Nurses and Midwives Day (INMD) celebrations held yesterday at Jerudong Park Medical Centre. The launch also marked the start of a month-long series of health and charity events aimed at recognizing the dedication of nurses and midwives and supporting vulnerable groups.

A donation ceremony was also held at the event, with beneficiaries including orphans and individuals with special needs.

This year's celebration theme is "Our Nurses, Our Future—Caring for Nurses, Supporting Economic Development," and includes activities such as the "Move for Hope" public Zumba series and the "Spin for Hope" indoor cycling classes. These fitness activities not only encourage public participation in a healthy lifestyle but also raise funds for the "Ri’ayah Wa Mahabah" project under the Ministry of Education's Department of Schools.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr. Isham witnessed this significant celebration as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the medical centre, along with other guests present at the ceremony.
