(Bandar Seri Begawan, 30th) Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Nazmi received funds for the 2023 Palestine Gaza Humanitarian Fund donated by the Brunei Women's Graduates Association (PSWNBD) this afternoon at the Department's building.
The association's president, Hasnan, donated a total amount of BND 15,830 from the association's members, guests, and proceeds from the '2023 Gaza Palestine Humanitarian Fund Charity Night' rose sale held on December 1, 2023.
Also present at the donation ceremony were the council's chairman, acting director of community development, Fajian, and members of the association. The fundraising period for the 2023 Gaza Palestine Humanitarian Fund has been extended by six months, until October 18, 2025, to give the public the opportunity to continue charitable activities and donations for the Palestinian people in Gaza. The public wishing to organize fundraising activities for this fund, with net proceeds (100%) donated to the fund, must first apply for permission from the Community Development Department (i.e., the Secretariat of the National Committee for the 2023 Gaza Palestine Humanitarian Fund). If individuals, associations, or other registered entities wish to donate only a portion of the net proceeds from public entertainment events, it is advisable to apply for permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs in advance.
Furthermore, members of the public who wish to donate can do so online via the Brunei Islamic Bank (BIBD) account (Account number: 00-001-01-0089051, which is the '2023 Gaza Palestine Humanitarian Fund'), or by scanning the QR code on the 2023 Gaza Palestine Humanitarian Fund posters and stickers using the BIBD QuickPay service.
Donation boxes are also available at mosques, prayer rooms, bank buildings, commercial buildings, and public buildings nationwide.
