Chiew Choon Man Inspects Good Shepherd Church Lutong; Allocates RM50,000 for Repair Project

(Miri 13th) The Member of Parliament for Miri, Chiew Choon Man, recently visited the Good Shepherd Church Lutong to inspect the progress of the church repair project.

This project received an allocation of RM50,000 in December 2024, aimed at improving the church’s facilities to provide a more comfortable and safer environment for the community.

It is reported that the church submitted an application letter to the Miri MP service center in August last year, requesting assistance to resolve a ceiling leak issue and to purchase audio and visual equipment to enhance the church's audio and video system for a better worship experience.

Following the application, this allocation was used to repair the church ceiling leaks; purchase a public address (PA) system; repaint rooms; and acquire a solar system to save energy.

In addition, some extra renovation works are underway, including internal wiring of the church and LED light installation; installation of amplifiers, televisions, and PA systems to enhance the worship experience and meet community needs.

Chiew Choon Man expressed that through this allocation and repair work, the church can provide a more comfortable, safe, and conducive environment, not only for worship but also for community activities. It is their shared responsibility to ensure the facilities benefit everyone.

He called on everyone to continue working together to build an inclusive, caring, and harmonious society.
