On the 29th, the special investigation team responsible for probing the case involving Yoon Suk-yeol’s wife, Kim Keon-hee, announced its final investigation results and filed lawsuits against 76 people, including former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse Kim Keon-hee.

At a press conference held in Seoul, the special investigation team stated that Kim Keon-hee leveraged her position as the president’s spouse to easily accept expensive gifts and was extensively involved in various personnel matters. Her actions amounted to 'selling government posts,' which severely undermined South Korea’s public institutional system.

The team pointed out that the cases involving Kim Keon-hee include manipulating the stock price of Deutsche Motors, accepting expensive luxury goods, interfering in the relocation of the presidential office and residence, and receiving illegal political funds. These issues are wide-ranging and serious in nature.

The special team stated that Yoon Suk-yeol has also been prosecuted in this case for allegedly violating the Public Official Election Act and the Political Funds Act.

On August 12, the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for Kim Keon-hee, after which she has remained in detention. On the 3rd, the special investigation team requested the court to sentence Kim Keon-hee to 15 years in prison and fine her 2 billion won (approximately 561 million ringgit) for crimes including stock price manipulation and accepting bribes. According to reports, the verdict for the case is scheduled to be announced on January 28 next year.
