Palestinian Riot Incident: Cabinet to Discuss Follow-up Actions

Regarding the riot incident caused by Palestinians at the Kuala Lumpur Transit Building (WTKL) on Saturday, Communications Minister Fahmi stated that the cabinet will discuss this issue and follow-up actions in their meeting on Wednesday.

He believes that the Minister of Defense, Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled, will certainly report the latest developments on this matter to the cabinet.

Fahmi, also the government spokesperson, said this to reporters after accompanying Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar to the Malaysia Tourism Year 2026 launch ceremony.

Prior to this, Fahmi mentioned that the cabinet had already been informed about the situation of Palestinians at the Kuala Lumpur Transit Building and intended to relocate them to a new location.

"So far, the cabinet has not been updated on the latest developments regarding the relocation but surely, the cabinet meeting on Wednesday will be informed of the latest progress."

The Malaysian Armed Forces recently confirmed that a group of Palestinians, hoping to expedite their return process to Palestine, caused a riot at the Kuala Lumpur Transit Building around 5 PM yesterday.

In October last year, there was also an incident where a Palestinian woman caused chaos and even damaged public property.

This matter has gained attention on social media, prompting Fahmi to urge parties involved, in this or other incidents, to verify the truth before sharing videos online to avoid causing negative comments.

In mid-last year, Malaysia brought in 127 Palestinians for treatment, including 41 Palestinian citizens injured during the Israeli attacks in Gaza, who were placed in the Tuanku Mizan Military Hospital for treatment, while their relatives were accommodated at the Kuala Lumpur Transit Building.
