NewJeans Members Announce Return, ADOR Contract Dispute Comes to Temporary End

Published at Nov 13, 2025 04:49 pm
Last year, the Korean girl group NewJeans, producer Min Hee-jin, management company HYBE, and its subsidiary ADOR became embroiled in a contract dispute that lasted nearly a year. Recently, the Seoul court rendered a first-instance verdict, ruling in favor of ADOR and confirming that NewJeans’ exclusive contract will remain in effect until July 31, 2029. At the time, NewJeans, through their lawyer, stated they would continue to appeal.

However, early yesterday (the 12th), ADOR issued a statement announcing that, after consulting with their families and having thorough discussions with ADOR, NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein had decided to return and will continue activities with ADOR. They stated, “We have decided to respect the court’s ruling and abide by the terms of the exclusive contract.” In the announcement, ADOR stressed their full support for Haerin and Hyein’s future activities and earnestly asked all fans for their enthusiastic support while urging everyone not to speculate baselessly about the members.

Following the announcements from Haerin and Hyein, the other three NewJeans members (Minji, Hanni, Danielle) also released a statement indicating they would return to ADOR. The three members wrote: “After careful deliberation, we have decided to return to ADOR. One member is currently in Antarctica, so there was a delay in communication, and since we have not yet received a response from ADOR, we are making our position known independently for now.”
