Sarawak Skills Development Centre Collaborates Closely with Government and Industry to Promote Talent Development

KUCHING (DEC 13)Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Abdul Aziz Datuk Husain,Chairman of the Sarawak Skills Development Centre and Honorary Chancellor of the Sarawak Advanced Technology International University College, pointed out that the Sarawak Skills Development Centre collaborates closely with the government and industry to promote talent development, especially in advancing the goals of the Sarawak 2030 Development Strategy in the post-pandemic era.

He revealed that the center maintains cooperation with more than 80 industry members from different fields to ensure that the course content meets industry demands, promoting economic, educational, and digital transformation.

Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz Husain emphasized the key role of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in shaping a sustainable future, speaking at the closing ceremony of the 4th BIMP-EAGA TVET Conference yesterday.

He believed the conference provided a platform for participants to exchange best practices and explore how to address the challenges posed by technological advancements and global transformations.

He stated that the conference was jointly organized by the Sarawak Skills Development Centre, Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, and ASEAN, reflecting the importance of cross-departmental collaboration and highlighting the value of TVET conferences to society.

He disclosed that the conference discussed topics such as the development of future work skills, the ecosystem transformation of TVET conferences, and the cooperation between industry and TVET institutions, further promoting the role of TVET in sustainable development.

He urged all parties to translate the outcomes of the conference into action, working together to set new benchmarks for sustainable development in the BIMP-EAGA and creating greater value for society.
