Sarawak Pavilion Launched at MWC Conference, Providing a Platform for Global Investors to Explore Opportunities in Sarawak

(Kuching, 4th) The Sarawak Government is launching the Sarawak Pavilion in conjunction with the 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC) held from March 3rd to 6th in Barcelona.

The launch of the Sarawak Pavilion marks an important milestone as Sarawak becomes a regional leader in digital transformation, smart technology, and sustainable development.

The Sarawak Pavilion provides a platform for global investors, technology and business leaders to explore the vast opportunities offered by Sarawak.

Sarawak Deputy Prime Minister, Second Minister of Finance and New Economy, and Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Amar Douglas officiated the launch ceremony of the Sarawak Pavilion at the 2025 Barcelona Mobile World Congress.

He stated that the launch of the Sarawak Pavilion at the 2025 Barcelona Mobile World Congress highlights Sarawak's commitment to building a thriving digital economy, expanding renewable energy projects, and encouraging industry collaboration to stimulate economic growth.

“In line with the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS), Sarawak is accelerating its digital transformation, leveraging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to create new business opportunities and improve community well-being. The Sarawak Pavilion at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress demonstrates the Sarawak government's willingness to collaborate, innovate, and grow with global partners.”

Meanwhile, Sarawak's Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, stated that this initiative would enable Sarawak to harness global expertise, explore innovative solutions, and form collaborations that promote sustainable digital and economic growth.

“This year, we will expand participation through business matching sessions, exchanges, and high-level discussions to strengthen collaboration with global technology leaders, investors, and industry experts. Through this collaboration, Sarawak aims to draw from global expertise, explore leading solutions, and build meaningful partnerships to drive Sarawak's long-term digital and economic growth.”

Also present at this event were Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications (Communications) Datuk Liwan Lagang, Deputy Minister of Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and Public Relations Group) Datuk Abdullah Saidol, and senior Sarawak government officials.
