(Baise, Guangxi, 11th) The joint investigation team of the "4·19" wall collapse accident in Youjiang District, Baise City, Guangxi, reported the details of the accident on May 10th. The accident was triggered by extreme weather, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of 3 people and injuries to 7 others.
On the evening of April 19th, around 17:00, Youjiang District of Baise City was hit by extremely strong convective weather. According to meteorological monitoring data, the instantaneous wind force reached level 11 (with wind speeds of 28.9 meters/second), accompanied by heavy rain and hail. The severe weather caused a wall to collapse in the Liutang Mango Demonstration Field, crushing 10 villagers from Jingxi attending a funeral.
Rescue and Aftercare Work
After the accident occurred, the district committee and government of Youjiang quickly organized rescue operations, sealed off the site, and prevented secondary disasters. Despite rescue efforts, 3 villagers unfortunately perished due to serious injuries, and 7 were injured, 6 of whom have recovered and been discharged, with 1 still receiving treatment but in stable condition.
