On Wednesday, Samsung (China) Investment Co., Ltd. issued an announcement on the Samsung Electronics China official website, stating that in response to rapidly changing market conditions and after careful consideration, Samsung Electronics has decided to cease sales of all home appliance products, including televisions and monitors, in mainland China.

The announcement emphasized that for users who have already purchased Samsung home appliances, the company will strictly adhere to the Consumer Rights Protection Law, national “three guarantees” regulations, and other relevant laws and regulations, and will continue to provide standardized after-sales services to ensure users' legal rights are not affected.

The announcement explained that the discontinued products include televisions, monitors, large commercial displays, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, washer-dryer combos, clothing care machines, audio equipment, projectors, vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, and all other household appliances. Mobile phone products will continue to be sold as usual.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung will continue to operate in the fields of mobile devices, semiconductors, and medical equipment in the Chinese market. In the mobile device sector, Samsung will actively promote products equipped with Galaxy AI features and will continue to introduce the “Heart of the World” series and other smart phones and related services tailored for Chinese users. Samsung will also strengthen cooperation with leading local artificial intelligence (AI) companies to jointly develop AI features that meet the needs of local users.

Samsung will focus its business in China on research, production collaboration, and investment in advanced industrial sectors. Based on this, it will continue to carry out R&D for mobile device technologies and maintain operations at the Suzhou home appliance factory as well as the semiconductor factories in Xi’an and Suzhou.
