Hong Kong actress Angie Ng and her CEO husband Liu Guanting’s daughter, Liu Shi (Little Crystal), celebrated her 18th birthday on October 12. Angie Ng specially organized a traditional “Ji Ji Ceremony” to celebrate her daughter’s coming of age.
In the video shared by Angie, the whole family is dressed in ancient attire and performs a series of rituals. Liu Shi’s stunning looks got netizens asking: “May I ask when will your daughter debut?” Liu Shi inherited the excellent genes from both parents—she especially resembles Angie Ng, sharing bright large eyes, a high nose bridge, and delicate red lips.
On Weibo, Angie wrote: “I heard that in ancient times, girls would hold the ‘Ji Ji Ceremony’ at 15 and be considered adults; now we come of age at 18.” Although times have changed, she specially arranged the Ji Ji Ceremony for her daughter, hoping “to continue passing down this sense of ceremonial growth, spanning a thousand years—from the grace of ancient traditions, to the start of a new chapter at eighteen.”
The video captures the coming-of-age ceremony process, including the parents welcoming guests, and the daughter putting on ceremonial attire. The highlight is the heartfelt advice from the parents to their daughter. Angie Ng and her husband expressed their hope that, after turning eighteen, no matter how difficult the world becomes or how winding the road ahead, their daughter should never forget her parents are always there for her. The touching moment brought Angie and her daughter to tears.
