Bai Lu Suffers from Mysterious Illness, Headache Spreads to Chest, Loses 4kg with Undiagnosed Cause

Chinese actress Bai Lu attended the wrap-up ceremony of her new drama Mo Li (Do Not Leave), where she revealed that she previously suffered from a mysterious illness. It started as a headache, which later spread to her cervical vertebrae, neck, and then to her chest. She immediately sought medical attention, consulting dermatology, neurology, and various other departments, but even now the cause of her illness remains undiagnosed.
At one point, the pain was so severe she couldn’t eat, causing her to lose 4 kilograms in a month—at 165cm tall, she was down to just 43 kg. She spent the whole of August seeking treatment, and later switched to traditional Chinese medicine, combining acupuncture and herbal remedies. As September approached, she posted in her friend group, praying, “September, please be kinder to me.” Thankfully, her condition began to gradually improve. Always optimistic, she told everyone not to worry about her, as she is now almost fully recovered.
Even while ill, she did not stop working and continued filming Mo Li, demonstrating great professionalism. Due to her illness, she would appear somewhat dazed on set; the director joked with her, saying, “Although I care about you, I have to say, you really look like Ye Li right now.” At the time, they were shooting a dramatic, tragic scene, which actually suited the mood required for the lead character, Ye Li. When she began to recover, it coincided with filming the happier scenes of the female lead, allowing her to really get into character.
