(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) The Brunei Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ Community Development Department recently held an aid fund handover ceremony, during which 14 families affected by natural disasters were awarded His Majesty’s government aid funds to assist them in coping with post-disaster life difficulties.
Among these 14 beneficiaries are 1 victim of a house collapse, 6 flood victims, 4 fire victims, and 3 victims affected by strong winds. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in all incidents, and residents evacuated safely.
Brunei Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Nazmi, presided over the ceremony. He stated that the aid, personally allocated by His Majesty, aims to alleviate the economic burden of the families affected by the disaster and reflects the government’s care and support for the well-being of the people.
He emphasized that the government will continue to focus on the needs of the people during sudden disasters and will keep providing timely assistance and services through relevant departments to ensure that citizens are not left isolated when facing difficulties.
