Published at Jun 30, 2026 03:18 pm
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghai stated on the 29th that Iran will not hold talks of any kind with the United States in the coming days. Instead, an Iranian expert delegation will travel to Doha, the capital of Qatar, this week to follow up on relevant matters.

In an interview with the media, he said Iran's current priority is to ensure the implementation of the terms of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, and that they are seriously following up on its implementation.

He stated that regarding the issue of oil sales stipulated in Article 10 of the memorandum, the US side has issued the necessary permits, and Iran is following up on implementation; regarding the unfreezing of Iran's frozen assets as mentioned in Article 11, the related implementation process is also progressing. The Iranian expert delegation will follow up on related matters in Doha.

He said that according to Article 13 of the memorandum, the precondition for initiating final agreement negotiations is that Articles 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 have started to be implemented and continue to be enforced. Therefore, Iran has not yet entered the stage of final agreement negotiations.

In response to news of the US sending a high-level representative to Doha, Baghai stated that the US delegation's trip to Doha is unrelated to the Iranian expert delegation's visit. The Iranian delegation is going to Doha to follow up on the implementation of the memorandum's terms, including those in Article 11.

She said: "We will continue to discuss matters regarding the Iran-US memorandum of understanding."
