Singapore's Minister for Public Service Coordination and Minister for Defense, Chan Chun Sing, stated that in the face of an ever-changing world, the responsibility of his new role at the Ministry of Defense is significant. He is fully committed to ensuring Singapore's peace and security. He also thanked the team at the Ministry of Education for their support and wished newly appointed Minister for Education, Li Zhisheng, success in his new role.
Chan Chun Sing expressed his gratitude towards the Ministry of Education team in a Facebook post made on Friday evening (May 23rd) after taking his oath of office. He has served as the Minister for Education since May 2021, now succeeded by Li Zhisheng.
He wished Li Zhisheng and the new team success in their future endeavors and stated that no matter where he is, he will always cheer for the Ministry of Education.
Chan emphasized that the new team at the Ministry of Defense will continue to build on the excellent work of previous Minister for Defense, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, ensuring Singapore's peace, so that each generation can have a broader scope for development than the previous one.
“The world has indeed changed, and the responsibility is heavy.”
He expressed full confidence in the courage and perseverance of the Ministry of Defense and Singapore Armed Forces, which include the reservists, national servicemen, regular soldiers, and defense executive officers.
He said, “We will give it our all and overcome all difficulties together.”
