The Yishun community cat in Singapore was brutally tortured, not only having its eyes gouged out but also its body dismembered. Interior Minister and Law Minister K. Shanmugam issued a statement harshly condemning the act, describing it as a 'shocking act of cruelty.'
According to reports from the United Morning News, Shanmugam is a Member of Parliament for the Yishun Group Representation Constituency. On the evening of the 9th, he posted on Facebook stating that a community cat in Yishun was brutally abused, its eyes were gouged out, and its body and internal organs were cut open.
'What kind of person would do such a thing? This is not what we humans should be like.'
According to the Facebook group 'Sayang Our Singapore’s Community Cats,' the white cat, which was tortured to death on the morning of the 9th, was named 'King Kong,' and was well-loved by many residents in the Oleander Breeze @ Yishun block of flats.
The poster, who fed 'King Kong' daily, was incredulous about the abuse and urged witnesses to provide information.
