“Grasshopper” member Edmond Choi (Jie Zai) revealed last October that he had undergone surgery for a brain tumor, and even uploaded a photo showing a super-long U-shaped scar on the back of his head—20 inches long and requiring over a hundred stitches. Although his condition caused concern, he reassured fans with a voice message released through his management company at the time, saying: “I will see everyone soon, in the near future. We’ll keep singing, dancing, and keep partying, OK? Let’s make that promise together!”
After an 8-month recovery period, Jie Zai posted regular updates on social media, sharing clips of his workouts at the gym to prove his health was improving. As fans continued to wait anxiously, he finally shared good news on the 29th, posting another workout video and writing: “Have you all been waiting a long time? Wait for it—the concert will be announced soon,” along with Grasshopper’s song “Wait.” There were earlier rumors that Grasshopper’s 40th anniversary concert would soon be held at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
