Xiao Tiantian Encounters 'Fake Eason Chan' Scam; Common Scam Messaging Methods Exposed

Published at Jun 30, 2025 02:14 pm
Taiwanese celebrity 'Xiao Tiantian' (Zhang Keyun) divorced two years ago, shifted her career focus to live-stream e-commerce, and has been raising her daughter alone, often sharing everyday family moments on social media. On the 30th, Xiao Tiantian posted in shock, "First time I've been scammed on IG," and the scammer even stole photos of her idol, Eason Chan. Outraged, Xiao Tiantian publicly shared the chat screenshots, saying she had already reported the account and urged others not to fall for such scams.

From the private messages Xiao Tiantian made public, it's seen that the contact was named 'E Chen' and used Eason Chan's photo as their profile picture. The conversation began with, "Congratulations, you have been selected as my special fan," which immediately made Xiao Tiantian suspicious that it was a fake account. The scammer continued, "You are the only one I message, as well as a few of my fans. I am getting older, so I hope you don't mind me texting you," and "I just want someone to chat with privately," even asking Xiao Tiantian, "How are your daughter and husband?" This confirmed to her that the account was an imposter! Xiao Tiantian angrily messaged to warn, "Don’t impersonate Eason," and finally reported the account.

Afterwards, Xiao Tiantian posted about the incident, saying confusedly, "Does anyone really fall for this? Scams are everywhere now, everyone needs to be cautious," and even called out to the scammers, "At least do your homework first," leading many netizens to agree, with comments like, "There are more scams than ever lately," and "This is obviously a scam, but some people still get fooled."
