International Gold Prices Break Through the $5,000 Mark; Trump’s Policies Trigger Safe-Haven Buying

(United States, 26th) On the evening of the 25th Eastern Time, the New York Mercantile Exchange February gold futures price broke through the historic mark of $5,000 per ounce (about 20,017 ringgit) in electronic trading.

With global uncertainty rising and President Trump's policies causing turmoil, the price of safe-haven asset gold has repeatedly reached new record highs.

According to AFP reports, gold once reached as high as $5,026 per ounce; at the same time, silver also touched $100 per ounce for the first time.

In January 2024, the price of gold per ounce was only slightly above $2,000.
