Girls’ Generation member Yuri (Kwon Yuri) is rumored to be leaving “SM Entertainment” after 25 years! According to Korean media reports on the 4th, Yuri’s exclusive contract with SM will expire next month, and she is currently carefully considering whether to renew it. Rumor has it that she may sign with an agency specializing in managing actors, so her next move is attracting much public attention.

Korean media outlet “TenAsia” reported that Yuri became a trainee at SM after passing an audition in 2001. After six years of training, she officially debuted as a Girls’ Generation member in 2007. Counting her trainee days, Yuri has been with SM for 25 years. Now, with her exclusive contract set to end in August, she is thoughtfully weighing her options about renewing with SM or possibly joining a new management company.

The report noted that Yuri has been focusing on her acting career in recent years, taking roles in dramas such as “Defendant,” “Bossam: Steal the Fate,” “Good Job,” and “The Police Station Next to the Fire Station.” She is gradually establishing herself as an actress, so she is interested in joining a management company with a focus on acting, hoping to secure more drama opportunities. However, Yuri still plans to continue music activities with Sooyoung and Hyoyeon as part of the sub-unit “HYOLEE SHOW,” so her future direction is still under comprehensive evaluation. Whether she will ultimately stay with SM depends on the official announcements from Yuri and the company.
