The family of Kim Sae-ron has filed a lawsuit against Kim Soo-hyun for violating the "Child Welfare Act" and hired a lawyer to hold a press conference with Kim Se-yi, the host of the YouTube program "Side Research Institute." They played an audio recording from a month before Kim Sae-ron's death, in which she claimed to have had a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun in the first year of middle school and was threatened with intimate photos. During the press conference, it was also claimed that an insider who possessed the recording was attacked after refusing to be bribed.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency "GOLDMEDALIST" countered, pointing out that the audio was AI forged and that the photo of the alleged insider's stabbing wound was a picture downloaded from the internet.
GOLDMEDALIST, through their lawyer, issued a statement saying that the insider who provided the audio to "Side Research Institute" is a fraud, and the recording is completely fabricated. They believe it was created using AI and other techniques. The individual attempted to contact GOLDMEDALIST, claiming to possess recordings of Kim Sae-ron favorable to Kim Soo-hyun. "The provider of the recording demanded money from our company and offered a portion of the audio claiming it was Kim Sae-ron's voice, but the content was actually altered. Our company did not meet any of the provider's demands."
GOLDMEDALIST also stated, "This individual has no connection to Kim Sae-ron, and after failing to defraud our company, they conspired with 'Side Research Institute' to release the forged recording. We are currently conducting a technical analysis of the recording and will disclose the results as soon as they are available."
