Golden Melody Award-winning singer JJ Lin is set to perform at Taipei Arena, the first time on June 7 and 8. Unexpectedly, on June 6, a netizen made an accusation on Threads, naming JJ Lin of interfering in a relationship and claiming to have in their possession leaked intimate videos and photos of JJ Lin and the netizen's ex-girlfriend. Within less than a day, the story took an unexpected turn, as the accuser claimed to have reached a seven-figure settlement with JJ Lin and his management company, promising to give away 1,000 chicken cutlets. The management company also responded.
The accuser's post alleged that JJ Lin interfered in his relationship with his flight attendant girlfriend and claimed to possess indecent videos of JJ Lin and his ex-girlfriend. He even made a statement about not committing suicide and welcomed media to contact him for details, threatening that he wouldn't be afraid even if a lawsuit ensued. Apple News reached out to this accuser, requesting evidence before proceeding with interviews, yet the accuser failed to provide proof and eventually stopped responding.
In an unexpected twist at 4 PM, the account suddenly posted that they had reached a settlement with JJ Lin and his management, receiving a seven-figure compensation. The post also expressed a wish to send out 1,000 chicken cutlets, inviting netizens to private message with their account details; some netizens who shared private messages were added to suspicious Line groups, revealing it as a 'phishing scam' tactic. Netizens angrily commented, 'Whoever heard of needing a private message for chicken cutlet giveaways?' and 'It’s a scam post, soon it’ll turn into a gambling account.'
Shortly after, the account deleted the chicken cutlet post but left accusations against JJ Lin. Responding to claims of a seven-figure settlement, the management company replied: 'Nonsense!' They also stated, 'As we have previously urged, we earnestly request media friends and the public not to believe or spread rumors, and to resolutely refuse to cite any baseless content. Additionally, please be careful and safeguard your personal information.'
