(Sibu, 13th) Last night (March 12), a seven-car pileup occurred on Hero Road, resulting in a 54-year-old man sustaining minor injuries.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department stated that they received a report at 9:24 pm and immediately dispatched firefighters from the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Station to the scene for rescue.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that, except for the driver of a Perodua Bezza sedan, all other vehicle occupants had already exited their vehicles with the help of bystanders.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department pointed out: "The injured party was not trapped in the vehicle at the time, but because the car had tilted after the collision, he had difficulty getting out on his own."
"Firefighters then assisted the man in exiting the vehicle and transported him to the hospital for further treatment via the Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) vehicle."
Firefighters then cleared debris from the road to ensure traffic safety, and the operation concluded at around 10:39 pm.
