Kuching Car Theft Crackdown: Three Arrested Including Foreign Woman

(Kuching, 13th) Police have arrested three individuals, including a foreign woman, during a series of operations cracking down on car theft cases.
Kuching District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Alexson pointed out that those arrested consist of two local men and a foreign woman, aged between 28 and 33.
He said police made the arrests this Wednesday (March 11) at around 3pm during the "Special Car Theft Operation" (Ops Lejang Khas) carried out at Tabuan Tranquility and Kampung Stass.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the two male suspects are involved in multiple vehicle theft cases, while the woman is the girlfriend of one of the suspects."
He stated that during the operation, police also seized two cars: a Perodua sedan and a Toyota sedan.
"Investigations show that one of the men has multiple previous criminal records. Urine tests also indicated that both men tested positive for drugs, while the woman tested negative."
Police are currently investigating the case under Section 379A of the Penal Code (vehicle theft). If convicted, the suspects could face between 1 to 7 years in jail and possibly a fine.
Alexson advised the public not to engage in any criminal activities and urged anyone with relevant information to contact the Kuching Police Operations Room (082-244444) to provide leads.
