(Miri, 18th) Miri Mayor YB Adam Yii today presided over the trial operation ceremony for the new Miri Central Bus Terminal.
In his speech at the meeting, he stated that the launch of the new bus station marks another milestone in our joint efforts to improve public transportation infrastructure in Miri, ensuring convenience and safety for residents and tourists.
He noted that the Pujut Bus Terminal has served us well over the years. However, with the continuous development of Miri, our facilities must also evolve to meet the growing needs of the community. The bus station is a testament to this progress. This state-of-the-art bus terminal is meticulously designed to meet various transportation needs, reflecting our commitment to providing modern, convenient, and efficient public transportation services.
“This achievement is the result of the joint efforts of the Sarawak Government, the Sarawak Ministry of Transport, and the Miri City Council. Together, we have created a facility that can not only meet today's transportation needs but also anticipate future transportation needs.”
He said, I hope the Miri Bus Terminal is not just a transportation facility. I envision it as a cornerstone of connectivity, economic activity, and inclusivity. It should be a gateway to enhance mobility for everyone, improve daily commutes for residents, and welcome tourists to experience the beauty and hospitality of Miri.
“Furthermore, I encourage all stakeholders to take pride in this facility and use it responsibly. Let us ensure it remains a symbol of progress and embodies our care for the community.”
