(Miri, 18th) In conjunction with the coming of the Lunar New Year, SUPP Miri & Sibuti Parliamentary Liaison Committee and SUPP Senadin Branch Chairman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin this morning and SUPP Miri Piasau Branch, Senadin Branch and Pujut Branch teams, went to Moshjaya and Riam Corner food court to distribute New Year oranges to wish the people a happy new year in advance.
The distribution of mandarin oranges is a traditional practice the party has maintained for years. It aims to connect with the people, listen to their suggestions, and shorten the distance with the community.
Besides mandarin oranges, calendars and New Year cards were also distributed to the public to help different ethnic groups understand the culture of the Lunar New Year.
Attendees of this event included Datuk Sebastian Ting, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Sarawak and Chairman of the SUPP Piasau Branch, and Miri Mayor Adam Yii, who is also the chairman of the SUPP Pujut Branch.
