(Seria, 9th) The Brunei Malai Belait Chinese Machinery Association held its 96th anniversary celebration banquet yesterday at its hall, bringing together numerous members, guests, and people from various sectors to joyfully celebrate the Association’s 96th milestone. The atmosphere was warm and lively.
The banquet began in the evening with the playing of the "Machinery Song," during which all attendees witnessed together the development journey of the Association over the past 96 years. This was followed by a tea ceremony and the cutting of the 96th anniversary celebration cake, symbolizing the passing of the torch, solidarity, and unity, as everyone jointly wished for the Association’s continued prosperity on its way to the centennial milestone.
The event also specially held a presentation ceremony for senior member allowances, to commend elderly members for their years of support and contribution to the Association. Members who received the senior allowance included: Zhong Guoqiang (90 years old), Cao Qiwen (80), Luo Guohua (80), Shen Renxiang (75), Liu Yongyuan (75), Yang Guohua (75), and Zhang Xuanxuan (75).
In addition, the event presented long service awards to thank members for their selfless dedication over the years. Among them, Chen Guancheng and Liu Zhixin received the 35-year Long Service Award; Liu Yongyuan received the 25-year Long Service Award; and Gu Hannan received the 15-year Long Service Award.
The long service awards are not only recognition of years of dedication by the recipients, but also reflect the unwavering support and perseverance of members for the Association. Looking ahead, the Association will continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance, unite the strength of its members, pass on the Association’s work, and work hand in hand toward the goal of a century of development.
