Lala Hsu Overjoyed by Gaining ‘More Husbands’ in Malaysia

Golden Melody Award winner LaLa Hsu returned to Malaysia for a concert after 8 years, not only delivering a heartfelt Golden Melody feast, but also showcasing her stand-up comedy-like interaction skills, keeping the audience bursting with laughter and screams. When a fan shouted that she was their “ideal type,” LaLa immediately put on her “skit queen” persona and mischievously asked, “Is it the want-to-date-me kind? Are you sure? It’s not just about singing for you, you’ll also have to put up with some of my other shortcomings.” When the fan replied, “Anything is fine,” she laughed in delight and said, “That’s so touching.” She then playfully responded, “It looks like I gained so many husbands tonight!”

LaLa Hsu’s “Something a Bit Extravagant” tour—Kuala Lumpur stop, kicked off on the 10th at Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur. She appeared in a dark blue dress, opening with songs like “Give,” “None of the Above,” “Waltz,” and “Limit,” instantly igniting the atmosphere. She smiled and said, “Finally we meet again. I hope you’ll enjoy listening and singing tonight.” The following songs, “Without Saying,” “Oasis,” and “Do You Dare,” let fans immerse themselves in her delicate, gentle voice.

As the “skit queen,” LaLa Hsu kept the jokes coming. She shared her itinerary after arriving in Kuala Lumpur—her first visit to the Petronas Twin Towers, passing by a durian stall but not eating any, and also tried mangosteen, rambutan, and salak. Finally, she couldn’t help laughing and said, “I don’t even know why I’m talking about all this.” When she sat down with her “Jia Ying Anthology” scores ready to perform and saw two guitarists keeping their distance, she joked, “Teachers, why are you so far back? Do I have body odor?” She then acted out a little skit, bowing repeatedly while singing “A Thankful Heart” in various styles to thank the band, leaving everyone in stitches.

The theme of this tour is “Something a Bit Extravagant.” On stage, LaLa Hsu shared her thoughts with fans: “Even if you become someone you don’t like because you care too much, it’s okay. Don’t hate yourself for caring too much. Always embrace the present moment with all you've got.” She reminded everyone, “Just care about what we care about, do what we love, and happiness will follow.”
