(Miri, 2nd) Shin Yang shipyard held a grand delivery ceremony today for the new ship numbered 466, 'Rawabi 213'. This multi-functional Anchor Handling Tug and Supply Vessel will be used for offshore operations, including the oil, gas, and wind energy industries, marking the successful completion of another important shipbuilding project by the Shin Yang shipyard.
Shin Yang Group CEO, Captain Chen Xianliang, pointed out at the ceremony that 'Rawabi 213' has a total length of 64 meters, is equipped with four main generators with power ratings of 1491 kilowatts, and utilizes electric propulsion, conforming to the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) ENVIRO environmental mark requirements. The ship is equipped with two 2000-kilowatt azimuth thrusters and has a bollard pull of 66 tons, with a maximum speed of 13.55 knots.
He stated that 'Rawabi 213' began steel cutting on June 15, 2023, keel laying was completed on August 11, and the vessel was launched on June 22, 2024. The sea trials were successfully completed this November, and today it was officially delivered. The ship was ordered by Singapore's Vallianz Holding Limited, whose CEO, Lim Yong Hua, attended the delivery ceremony.
In his speech, he expressed gratitude to Singapore Vallianz Holding Limited's CEO Lim Yong Hua and his team, thanking them for their full support and trust, and for entrusting this new shipbuilding project along with two other sister ships numbered 468 and 469 to Shin Yang for construction. The two ships under construction are multi-functional anchor handling and supply vessels powered by PD2 diesel electric systems and will not only meet the ENVIRO environmental mark but will also comply with the SMART intelligent vessel mark, equipped with capabilities for data collection, transmission, management, analysis, and reporting, providing advanced assurance for ship health monitoring, operational optimization, and decision support.
He mentioned that Shin Yang Group's shipyard has four shipyards in Miri and Bintulu, with three slipways, two floating docks, and six slipway facilities using airbags for drydock repairs and new shipbuilding. In recent years, with the thriving offshore industry, the slipways and floating docks have been operating at full capacity year-round. Despite this, Shin Yang Shipyard still has ample space to undertake various new shipbuilding projects, especially offshore service vessels (OSV).
He stated that Shin Yang Group looks forward to continuing to deepen its cooperative relationship with Vallianz Holding Limited and hopes that 'Rawabi 213' will have a safe and smooth journey in serving the offshore industry in the future.
