On the 6th, La Poste (the French postal service) held a ceremony in Paris to mark the issuance of the Year of the Horse zodiac stamps, welcoming the Chinese New Year.
Minister Counselor Chen Li from the Chinese Embassy in France, as well as François Veyr, General Manager of European and International Affairs at La Poste, attended the ceremony. The Year of the Horse zodiac stamp set released that day consists of two stamps, and two miniature sheets were also issued, each containing five stamps. The stamps are inscribed with the Chinese characters for "Year of the Horse," while the miniature sheets are printed with the Chinese characters for "Chinese New Year." A total of 330,000 full sets of these stamps have been printed. In addition, a commemorative version of the miniature sheet was also released on the same day.
In his speech, Chen Li introduced Chinese New Year and zodiac culture. He said that in the Chinese zodiac, the horse represents strength, speed, and success, and he wished everyone success in the Year of the Horse.
The stamp designer, French-Chinese artist Chen Jianghong, presented the stamps to the audience. This is the eighth set of zodiac stamps he has designed for La Poste.
