Solo Concert Turns into Fans’ Welfare Night: Wang Heye Says, ‘I Don’t Want to Go Back!’

China’s new-generation singer Wang Heye held his first ever solo concert in Malaysia, directly turning the ‘Infinity and Beyond’ overseas exclusive concert, Kuala Lumpur stop, into a fans’ indulgence event from start to finish. Before the ticket sales, he voluntarily lowered the prices, and after the show started, he continued to spoil fans with multiple treats—surprise scratch cards giving out albums, watches, fans, autographed gifts and more, and randomly selected 10 lucky fans on stage to receive flip-flops and his T-shirts, handed out snacks, broke out into Douyin (TikTok) dances, and even staged a ‘wardrobe change show’ on stage. Plus, he went down from the stage to walk among the fans three times, interacting with the audience at close range, turning the concert into the ultimate fan benefit night. Laughing on stage, he said, “I don’t want those who paid to have wasted their money,” and moved by the fans’ passion, he exclaimed, “Oh my god, I really don’t want to go back!”

On the night of the 24th, Wang Heye took the stage at Axiata Arena Kuala Lumpur, opening with ‘Wilted Flowers’ and instantly setting the mood. Songs that followed, such as ‘Second Hand’, ‘When the Wind Rises’, ‘Evening Breeze in the Heart’, and ‘Word by Word’, triggered massive singalongs among the fans. He marveled, “Oh my gosh! Since I was born in 1998 until now, I never imagined I could hold a solo concert here. It’s really incredible, it gives me the same feeling as Harbin.” He then joked, “This time when I came, I didn’t come empty-handed. First is music, second is food. Next, I’ll let you taste some of Malaysia’s special snacks, and I’ll be sharing them with you all.”
面对满场热情的粉丝,来自哈尔滨的王赫野兴奋直呼:“给我一种哈尔滨的感觉!”
On stage, the staff prepared six authentic local snacks, including nyonya kuih, curry puffs, and kaya toast. In the audience, staff pushed food carts to distribute treats. Wang Heye started a live-eating segment on stage, interacting while eating: “Fans from out of town, how many of you flew over just for Yezi? I hope everyone gets to try the snacks on my table, because this luck shouldn’t be mine alone, right?” He admitted, “Actually, I was so nervous I had no appetite, so eating on stage is just right—openly, no need to hide! It also means I have to eat, which actually makes me very happy to be here. If anything goes wrong later, I hope you all will understand, I’m really nervous!”

Wang Heye even staged a “wardrobe change show” on stage, his silhouette faintly visible behind a curtain, setting off fans’ screaming nonstop: “Oh my god, can we really watch this? He’s way too much!” On stage, he dubbed himself the “Harbin Dance King”, performed the Douyin dance “Yilai Shake”, going full dance mode, even demanding an encore, and danced it twice. Afterwards he poked fun at himself: “There’s no one left in this world I care about! Coming to this grand venue just to be silly and conspicuous!” making the whole venue burst into laughter.

During the concert, he came off the stage three separate times, interacting up close with fans, shaking hands, forming finger-hearts, passing the mic for them to sing, taking selfies and videos with fans’ phones, and basically walked through the whole venue. Facing the eager fans crowding to the front, he joked, “Make way for me! Those upstairs, wait for me, I’ll think of something!” At one point he wanted to go up to the 2nd or 3rd floor to interact, but gave up due to safety and distance, so instead he simply made a few more circles around the inner field, using his actions to spoil fans. He repeatedly said, “Oh my god, I really don’t want to go back!”

The surprises didn’t stop there. In addition to lucky draws for everyone upon entry, Wang Heye also prepared flip-flops to give to 10 lucky fans drawn randomly by the video director. He joked, “Giving shoes usually isn’t a good omen, so just take them as a ‘shoe money’ token!” and further included his T-shirt as an extra bonus. He also improvised by singing ‘My Hometown is the Great Northeast’ and ‘Love By Mistake’ on the spot, sending fans into a frenzy.

Of course, the concert was filled with wonderful songs. Many hits such as ‘The Last Page’, ‘Might as Well Go Home and Drink Tap Water’, ‘The Girl from the Past’, ‘Chapter’, and his representative work ‘The Wind Blows’ triggered more massive singalongs. With his outstanding vocals, charming humor, and genuine interaction, Wang Heye won over Malaysian fans at his very first overseas solo concert.
