(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei, on the 19th of this month, hosted a special Korean cooking class at the ambassador’s residence for local non-profit organization La Vida Official. La Vida Official is dedicated to providing education and volunteer services for individuals with special needs.
This event was hosted by Korean Ambassador to Brunei, Sun Nahmkook, and guided by embassy chef Park Geonwook. Participants learned to prepare two popular Korean dishes—tuna kimbap and royal-style stir-fried rice cakes (gungjung tteokbokki).
Six adult students with special needs from La Vida, accompanied by six partners, participated in this class and experienced the process of making Korean cuisine firsthand. This warm and interactive class encouraged teamwork, creativity, and cultural appreciation among the participants.
Student Josephine shared: “I really enjoyed this cooking class and the food was very delicious.”
The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by the “La Vida Official” organization to the Bruneian community, and warmly welcomed its members to visit the ambassador’s residence. He noted that such cultural exchanges help foster friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Korea and Brunei.
The embassy will continue to support inclusive, community-based initiatives, using culture and cuisine as bridges to promote friendship and goodwill between the peoples of both countries.
