(Kuching, 25th) Police have solved a motorcycle theft case that occurred on Pending Road, arresting two local men with criminal records, and successfully recovering the stolen motorcycle.

Kuching District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ahsmon Bajah stated that the two suspects, aged 25 and 33 respectively, were arrested during two raids carried out this Tuesday and yesterday at Kampung Siol Kandis and Kampung Pulo.

He said the police launched an investigation following a report of the motorcycle theft. The report was received at 10:34 a.m. on June 22, stating that a Honda motorcycle had been stolen.

"The theft occurred behind the Rajah Cafe building along Pending Road," he said in a statement today.

He stated that the police successfully recovered the stolen motorcycle during the operation, and also seized a red and black Honda Wave motorcycle with a fake license plate, as well as a red Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle.

Investigations revealed that both suspects have multiple prior records related to criminal and drug cases.

In addition, preliminary urine screening results confirmed that both tested positive for drugs.

"Police are investigating the case under Section 379A of the Penal Code (Theft of Motor Vehicle). Upon conviction, they may face up to 7 years in prison, a fine, or both."

He urged the public to stay vigilant, ensure vehicles are parked in safe places, and use locks and additional anti-theft devices to reduce the risk of theft.

"Anyone with information pertinent to the case is urged to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation."
