Kosovo President Visits UBD, Delivers Speech and Plants Commemorative Tree

(Brunei, 7th) The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, accompanied by her husband Prindon Sadriu, visited the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) yesterday as part of a three-day state visit to Brunei.
The President was warmly welcomed at the Chancellor's Hall by Minister of Home Affairs and Acting Minister of Education Dato Awang Haji Mohd Amin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Haji Ali, and UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hazri.
The President of Kosovo delivered a speech titled "Kosovo's Development and the Realization of a Beautiful National Vision" at UBD.
The delegation then proceeded to visit the university's Botanical Research Center (BRC), where the President of Kosovo planted a commemorative tree, hopea pentanervia symington ex GHSWood.
This tropical canopy tree can grow up to 35 meters tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 1 meter, often with buttress roots at the base. It is native to the northern and northwestern region of Borneo (Brunei and Malaysia), primarily found in peat swamp forests and heath forests.
At the end of the visit, the delegation enjoyed refreshments at a café next to the BRC courtyard.
The President of Kosovo then visited the Royal Regalia Museum in the capital, which houses the heirlooms and emblems of the Sultan of Brunei.


The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Nazmi and his spouse eagerly welcomed the President upon arrival, accompanied by Dato Haji Ali.
The President of Kosovo and her entourage enjoyed traditional dance performances. The President visited several exhibition halls, including the Royal Coronation Hall and the Silver Jubilee Hall. Before concluding the visit, the President signed the visitor's log and received a souvenir from Dato Haji Ali.
The President also visited the Islamic Sultan Treasures Gallery (BKISHHB) and the Brunei Water Village.
