Xiaohongshu Establishes First Overseas Office in Hong Kong

Hong Kong official announcement: China's popular online shopping and social platform Xiaohongshu has set up its first overseas office in Hong Kong.
According to the Hong Kong government gazette, Invest Hong Kong announced last Saturday (June 7) that Xiaohongshu has opened an office in Hong Kong. This is the first time Xiaohongshu has established an office outside of mainland China, facilitating deeper service to overseas brands and users.
Xiaohongshu held an opening ceremony for its Hong Kong office on the same day, with Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan serving as the officiating guest and delivering a speech. He said that Xiaohongshu's presence in Hong Kong has threefold significance. First, Xiaohongshu can build closer ties with the Hong Kong community, providing new perspectives and channels for local businesses in product and service design, marketing, and promotion. Second, as an international financial, trade, and innovation hub, Hong Kong can help Xiaohongshu grow its business and expand its global footprint. Third, leveraging Hong Kong’s blend of Chinese and international cultures and its global network can promote outstanding Chinese culture and products to the world.
Paul Chan said Hong Kong looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Xiaohongshu to enhance the experience for mainland tourists visiting Hong Kong, as well as to increase the visibility of high-quality services in Hong Kong's tourism, retail, catering, and creative industries.
Xiaohongshu's Chief Marketing Officer Zhiheng said: “When Xiaohongshu was founded in 2014, it already had an inseparable bond with Hong Kong. Among the earliest seven cross-border shopping guides launched by Xiaohongshu, a shopping guide for Hong Kong was included. If Xiaohongshu has written an era narrative of online community development, Hong Kong is the beginning of that narrative.”
