(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) Liang Yiguang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of China-ASEAN Expo, led a delegation to visit the Brunei Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Bandar Seri Begawan today, inviting the Chamber to organize a delegation to participate in the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).
He said this year marks the signing of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA) 3.0 Protocol, the concluding year of the "ASEAN Community Vision 2025," and continues to be the China-ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchange. The 22nd CAEXPO will be held from September 17 to 21 in Nanning, Guangxi, and will implement the following innovative measures:
First, supporting the effective implementation of the 3.0 version as the main annual feature, a series of activities will be held, a blue book will be released, new opportunities of the FTA will be promoted, and the 3.0 version will be showcased and effectively implemented at the CAEXPO early on.
Second, artificial intelligence as the main highlight, establishing an AI Pavilion to display the latest trends, application scenarios, and representative technologies and products of AI. Additionally, a New Quality Productivity Pavilion and Blue Economy Exhibition Area will aid China-ASEAN innovation cooperation.
Third, promoting cross-border industry chain integration as the most anticipated highlight, emphasizing the "Chain+Expo" concept to display key industries such as advanced manufacturing, high-end equipment, fine chemicals, and food processing in a full industry chain manner, hosting emerging industry and cross-border supply chain matching activities to support the construction of regional advanced industry clusters.
Fourth, green leadership as the most distinct base color, optimizing and upgrading the Green Economy Exhibition Area to display new products such as clean energy and new energy vehicles, promoting China-ASEAN green trade development, and creating a "zero carbon CAEXPO."
Fifth, brand empowerment as the strongest added value "gift package," conducting product selection activities, hosting investment cooperation roundtable meetings, industrial park investment promotion conferences, and other "star" investment promotion activities, continuing to implement the China-ASEAN Youth Leaders Development Program to expand the brand influence of the CAEXPO.
Sixth, service upgrade as the most considerate return, enhancing the convenience and intelligence level of exhibition services, strengthening service coordination and linkage, enriching the "expo + consumption" and "expo + tourism" spillover effects.
The 21st CAEXPO was successfully held from September 24 to 28, 2024, in Nanning, Guangxi, with approximately 800 overseas institutions and enterprises from 44 countries and 4 international organizations participating. The delegation led by Dr. Mohd Faizal Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economy's Economy, Trade, and Industry Department, organized 15 companies to participate. The 21st CAEXPO hosted a product selection event for the first time, with Brunei's Sahamada Company's smoked fish dip winning a silver award, selling out on-site, and being displayed long-term in the permanent exhibition hall of the CAEXPO.
Liang Yiguang welcomes the Brunei Chinese Chamber of Commerce to organize more quality member enterprises to participate and attend. He stated that this CAEXPO focuses on effectively implementing the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 version and highlights artificial intelligence, and looks forward to the Chamber actively promoting member enterprises to participate, leveraging the CAEXPO platform to support more emerging industries and high-tech enterprises in digital economy, artificial intelligence, green energy, environmental protection technology, and biomedicine from Brunei to enter the Chinese market.
Meanwhile, he welcomes the Chamber to continue organizing member enterprises for "one-stop" procurement of Chinese goods. For this, this year will further optimize buyer services by providing accommodation, organizing rewards, and improving translation, accompaniment, and transportation convenience measures, expecting the Chamber to actively organize enterprises to participate and enhance bilateral trade effectiveness.
