Chinese Premier Li Qiang is expected to visit Singapore later in October, marking the first visit to Singapore by a Chinese premier in seven years.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of official diplomatic relations between Singapore and China. Li Qiang’s visit aims to celebrate the 35th anniversary of bilateral ties. According to Lianhe Zaobao, Li Qiang will visit Southeast Asia in late October, with Singapore anticipated as his first stop, followed by a trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend a series of ASEAN summits.
The 47th ASEAN Summit and related meetings will be held in Kuala Lumpur from October 26 to 28, during which the ASEAN Plus Three Leaders’ Meeting (bringing together China, Japan, and South Korea), the ASEAN-China Summit, the ASEAN-US Summit, as well as the East Asia Summit, will take place.
