(Selangor, 11th) A long-distance bus and a 3-ton lorry collided on the highway, resulting in four bus passengers and one lorry driver being trapped in the wreckage, with the number of injured reaching 15.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Center issued a statement saying that the accident occurred today (11th) at around 5:24 am at the 1.0 kilometer mark southbound on the North-South Highway.
The head of the rescue operations team, Ahmad Mukhlis, stated that the rescue team arrived at the scene at 5:51 am and found a total of five victims trapped in the wreckage.
"The involved long-distance bus was carrying 42 people at the time. Except for the five victims, including the driver, who were trapped, the other passengers were unharmed and managed to evacuate the damaged vehicle themselves after the incident."
He said the last trapped victim was rescued at 8:53 am this morning, and all the injured were subsequently sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
He added that eight of the injured sustained minor injuries and were treated in the green zone, four were treated in the yellow zone, and three were treated in the red zone.
"The cause of the accident is pending further police investigation."
