(Putrajaya, 13th) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar praised the high efficiency of law enforcement agencies in combating smuggling, closing loopholes, and fighting corruption, stating that they have saved the country RM15.5 billion in two years. He also revealed that a decade ago, criminal syndicates were known to have controlled ports, but with the collusion of high-ranking officials, law enforcement personnel were powerless to resist.
"For them to have existed for so long, there must have been collusion with top law enforcement officials, powerful individuals, and possibly even ministers or prime ministers. Let us ask ourselves, praying five times a day, asking God for blessings, hoping not to be cruel or oppressive, but do we tolerate these injustices continuing to happen?"
Therefore, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the efforts and actions taken by customs, the anti-corruption commission, the inland revenue board, the police, and other law enforcement agencies, and said that he himself is working hard to drive reforms.
He made these remarks during his speech at the monthly Prime Minister's Department assembly in Putrajaya today.
