(Miri, 4th) Due to continuous rainfall, a landslide occurred on an approximately 30-foot-high slope, resulting in the complete closure of the main road leading to Kampung Danau today.
A spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Center (PGOB) stated that after receiving the incident report, a team dispatched by the fire and rescue unit immediately rushed to the scene for a preliminary inspection.
He said that upon arrival, the operations commander (PKO) assessed the safety conditions and potential risks of the affected area.
“Subsequently, we set up safety barricades in the area to prevent the public from passing through this road,” he said in a statement today.
He added that information about this incident has also been conveyed to the local disaster operations center for further actions by the relevant agencies.
A total of seven firefighters took part in the operation, and one fire and rescue truck (FRT) was deployed.
