(Brunei, 22nd) Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Dato Liu Guangming, launched the Twelfth National Development Plan (RKN12) yesterday.
This five-year plan covers 2024 to 2029, with an allocation of 4 billion dollars for 305 development projects, focusing on key areas such as education, health, industrial development, housing, infrastructure, digitalization, and green technology.
The Twelfth National Development Plan is a five-year investment plan with the theme "Enhancing Socio-Economic Development to Ensure National Well-being and Harmony," aligning its strategic commitments with Brunei's long-term vision, supported by six key development priorities. These initiatives include: strengthening education infrastructure and systems; nurturing future-oriented talent; supporting a sustainable environment; enhancing national resilience and citizen well-being; promoting the development of non-oil and gas industries; and improving public sector efficiency.
In conjunction with the launch of the Twelfth Brunei National Development Plan, an exhibition is also held to showcase the progress of the first and second National Development Plans, featuring key projects implemented by various ministries and supporting agencies such as the Building Control and Construction Industry Authority, Brunei Climate Change Secretariat, and Smart Nation Office. Furthermore, a series of briefings on the Twelfth National Development Plan, efforts to support climate change, and digitalization initiatives will be held over three days (until tomorrow).
The public and students are welcome to visit the exhibition and participate in the activities to deepen their understanding of the national development agenda and government initiatives to ensure environmental sustainability.
