(Seremban, 26th) DAP Deputy Chairman and Minister of Housing and Local Government Nga Kor Ming pointed out that the Negeri Sembilan state election is a choice between two political paths, two governing philosophies, and two future directions.
He said since the start of the election campaign, Pakatan Harapan has always sought to win the people's support through its achievements, responding to the people's expectations with good governance, and implementing benefit-to-the-people policies without distinction of race, religion, or region; advancing economic development, improving infrastructure, attracting domestic and foreign investment to create more employment opportunities, so that Negeri Sembilan can move towards a pluralistic, open, and progressive future.
"In contrast, Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional have not rid themselves of the dinosaur era political mindset. Throughout the election campaign, instead of putting forward concrete governing plans, they continue to use racial and theocratic politics to create inter-ethnic antagonism, attempting to exchange political gains for the people's division. Compared to these two approaches, the difference is clear."
He said that, today, the people are concerned about the country's future, not the racial hegemony and theocratic politics that BN and PN keep provoking.
"In PN-governed states, the practice of theocratic politics has deterred foreign investment and stalled development; in BN-governed states, corruption and scandals have erupted endlessly. Recently, in Melaka and Johor, a large number of 'backdoor' appointee assemblymen were installed, trampling on the spirit of democracy. Everyone can see this for themselves."
On Saturday night, while campaigning in the Chembong state constituency in Negeri Sembilan for DAP Secretary-General and Chembong candidate Anthony Loke, Nga Kor Ming said, Malaysia is a country made up of multiple cultures, religions, and races, and only by adhering to pluralism, openness and moderation can the country continue to develop steadily, and society can live in harmony and prosperity.
"What is distressing is that PAS president (Tan Sri) Hadi Awang still claims that the Chinese and Indian communities are 'outsiders', while MCA stays silent in the face of the extreme rhetoric from PN."
He remarked that while the rest of the world is developing artificial intelligence, the green economy, and digital technology, BN and PN are still mired in racial and theocratic politics. He criticized this mindset as not only backward, but also damaging to the country's competitiveness.
He pointed out that if a country is constantly mired in ethnic division, it will cause investors to lose confidence, leading to continuous brain drain, with all Malaysians—not just any one party—ultimately paying the price.
"Truly visionary politics is not about creating enemies, but about creating opportunities; not about inciting hatred, but about uniting the power of all people to drive national development together."
"The future competition for the country is not to fight among ourselves domestically, but to compete with the world on the international stage. Negeri Sembilan has maintained stable development for many years precisely because the Pakatan Harapan state government has adhered to pragmatic governance, clean administration, and a pluralistic and inclusive development philosophy. That is why everyone must stick with hope, so Negeri Sembilan can prosper even more."
