On the 19th, U.S. President Trump stated that if no agreement is reached regarding the U.S. obtaining Greenland, he will '100 percent' impose additional tariffs on some European countries.
In an interview with NBC, when asked if he would impose tariffs on European countries as planned should no agreement be reached on Greenland, Trump said: 'I will, 100 percent.'
When asked if he would use force to seize Greenland, Trump replied, 'No comment.'
He said that Europe should focus on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, 'That is what Europe should pay attention to, not Greenland.'
Trump also once again complained that Norway did not award him the Nobel Peace Prize.
He said: 'No matter what they say, Norway completely controls the Nobel Peace Prize. They like to say they're not involved, but in reality, they are entirely involved.'
On the 19th, Trump reportedly replied to Norwegian Prime Minister Støre by text message, saying that in view of Norway’s decision not to grant him the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping 'eight wars,' 'I feel I am no longer obliged to only consider peace... Now I can consider what is beneficial and appropriate for the United States.'
