Ronald Cheng Reportedly Divorced, Appears at Family Court to Speak Out for the First Time

Hong Kong male star Ronald Cheng remarried anchor wife Sammie Yu in 2011. The couple seemed to be getting along well. Previously, she accompanied him to the U.S. for alcohol rehab treatment, which he recovered from quite successfully. Unexpectedly, after returning to Hong Kong in March, news broke that they had been divorced for a month, sparking heated discussions. Now, a month later, Ronald Cheng suddenly appeared at the family court and spoke out for the first time when questioned by reporters about the state of his marriage.

According to TVB Entertainment News, Ronald Cheng was spotted on the 15th suddenly appearing at the Wan Chai Family Court, suspected to be handling marital issues. He appeared noticeably thinner, although his complexion seemed quite good. When asked by reporters, "Does your appearance today mean you are going through a divorce with your wife?" Ronald Cheng did not directly respond to the question. Instead, he expressed dissatisfaction, questioning reporters, "It's a closed-door trial, so how do you know?" and "Why would you get news from a closed-door trial, that's amazing," refusing to comment on the current state of his marriage.

Ronald Cheng and Sammie Yu have been married for almost 15 years and have two children together, making for a happy family of four. However, on Sammie Yu's 45th birthday on March 13, she openly shared photos with their children but did not share any birthday photos featuring Ronald Cheng. She also wrote "Start a new chapter," leading to speculation about a change in their marriage.
