Ting Chiew Yew Allocates RM150,000 to Assist in Building Covered Hall to Alleviate Space Shortage Issue in People’s Religious School

(Miri, 24th) Sarawak's Deputy Minister for Tourism, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, has allocated RM150,000 through the 2025 Rural Transformation Plan (RTP) to assist the People's Religious School in Miri in constructing a covered hall, addressing the long-standing issue of inadequate activity space at the school.

Datuk Sebastian Ting's private secretary, Chia Kah Furng, visited the school yesterday morning accompanied by officials from the Miri Public Works Department. They held discussions with school representatives and the Parent-Teacher Association to further understand the details of project planning and implementation.

Chia Kah Furng indicated that after learning about the school's practical difficulties last year, Datuk Sebastian Ting decided to allocate funds through the Rural Transformation Plan to help solve the school's lack of suitable activity venues.

He stated that this plan not only helps to improve the level of school infrastructure but also provides teachers and students with a more complete and secure space for activities.

He added that the Deputy Minister has always attached great importance to educational development and improvement of school facilities, hoping to provide rural students with a better learning and growth environment through similar funding projects.

“I hope that after the completion of the covered hall, it can more effectively support school activities, increase the frequency and diversity of activities, and bring students a richer campus experience.”
