South Korean powerhouse actress Moon Geun-young, who was once dubbed the “Nation’s Little Sister” for her roles in Autumn in My Heart and My Little Bride, has endured a health battle in recent years that has left many fans concerned. On the 13th, she surprised fans with a personal post on social media, sharing an update on her return to stage plays after a 9-year hiatus, and showing off a handwritten letter from fans filled with gratitude. Her post quickly attracted a flood of supportive comments from netizens.

In her post, Moon Geun-young wrote with emotion: “To my powerful Bear Pine fans, because of you, our premiere went smoothly. Thank you so much!” The photo shows a fan’s letter saying, “My inspiration, Moon Geun-young, it’s so wonderful to see you back on stage after such a long time since ‘Romeo and Juliet’!” and reminding her to take care of herself and stay strong until the tour is over.

In fact, Moon Geun-young’s journey to return has been quite arduous. In 2017, while performing in a stage play, she suddenly experienced severe pain in her right arm. After medical examination, she was diagnosed with the rare disease “acute compartment syndrome.” The condition was once so critical that she risked amputation. After completely halting her work and undergoing four major surgeries, she was able to make a full recovery. In October 2024, she also personally reassured the public, emphasizing that she has fully recovered.
