Literary and Arts Association Prepares for Participation in Calligraphy Joint Exhibition – Promoting Calligraphy Exchange in Bintulu this July

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Brunei Chinese Literary and Arts Association convened its fifth board meeting of the year yesterday afternoon. In addition to reviewing the progress of club affairs and activities over the past few months, the meeting focused on discussing preparations for participation in the 13th (2026) Sarawak Calligraphy Joint Exhibition.

The meeting was presided over by President Chen Lizhen, with attending board members including Zhu Yunli, Lin Yuantai, Zhang Wenfa, Pan Weifang, Zhan Xingmin, Lin Meiyu, Li Fenghe, Huang Bingxian, Huang Linming, and Luo Guohua.

According to information obtained, the 13th (2026) Sarawak Calligraphy Joint Exhibition, organized by the Bintulu Calligraphy Association, will be held from July 3rd to 5th at the ParkCity Mall.

The event is expected to showcase over 200 calligraphy works and will bring together calligraphy enthusiasts from Sarawak, Sabah, and Brunei, aiming to promote regional exchange and cultural connections in the field of calligraphy.

During the meeting, board members discussed and coordinated matters regarding the exhibited works, number of participants, itinerary arrangements, and related exchange activities. At present, all preparation work is actively underway to ensure smooth participation in this calligraphy event.

Chen Lizhen stated that participating in the Sarawak Calligraphy Joint Exhibition not only helps strengthen ties with East Malaysia’s calligraphy organizations, but also provides a platform for local calligraphy enthusiasts to showcase their talents and exchange ideas.

She pointed out that, at that time, she will lead the Association’s board members and representatives to Bintulu to participate in the event, jointly promoting the development and heritage of Chinese calligraphy, and further deepening cultural exchanges between Brunei and the East Malaysia region.
